The Comic Strip museum in downtown Brussels is doubly important to see for visitors. First of all, comics, or bande-dessines, are long in the history of Belgium, and at the museum you can learn about Herge and his Tin Tin (although I highly recommend visiting the real Herge museum in Louvain-La-Neuve, a quick trip by train or car from Brussels), les Schtroumpfs or The Smurfs, the famous cowboy Lucky Luke, Spike and Suzy (sometimes called Suske en Wiske, Willy and Wanda, or Bob and Bobette), award-winning Thorgal, Largo Wench, Spirou et Fantasio, the accident-prone Gaston, Kid Paddle, The Adventures of Nero, and more. But why it is DOUBLY important is that you also get to see the work of the famous art nouveau architect, Victor Horta as the actual museum is in his Waucquez Warehouses.
